I couldn't be more excited to officially begin this adventure with Pies + Petals. In my Pop-Pop's words... I'm the 'pie lady', hopefully he won't be the only one calling me that for too much longer.
Our first official debut was last week at the 'Bittersweet Vision Night', an event for founder of Bittersweet Creative Group, Kate Schmidgall, to discuss her dream for the future of the company. I have the privilege of working for Bittersweet as an employee, and now as 'pie lady' too.
I served Peach Crème Fraîche, Gluten Free Key Lime, and Chocolate-Chocolate Pie at this event. Kate ordered three Pie Packages - enough to feed 27, and I am happy to announce that there were no survivors.
My beautiful mother, Mary Jane of LeRoy French Flowers put together the most enchanting arrangements of blue muscari, lavender, rosemary, white hydrangea and more. She laced ivy around the bar and piano, and dressed up our new hickory slab tables to make the now co-work space inspiring and inviting. (Did I mention that working with my mom is the best thing in the world?)
Hooray! The evening was beautiful. I'm excited for the future of Bittersweet and Pies + Petals, I have a feeling the two will be lifelong friends.
Until next time,
